The Asian Man Syndrome

Simply amazing!

I just received news that my buddy from Penang, Yuen Hann is officially dating a Caucasian girl! Apparently he’s the first Malaysian at OSU to cross the racial barrier and into the Asian man’s last frontier. I tip my hat to you!

Over here at the U of M, the record has yet to be broken. We’re still looking for the first Malaysian-Caucasian Undergraduate couple. Well, there’s one where the girl’s Malaysian, but that doesn’t count. I’ve yet to see a Malaysian guy date a Caucasian girl here in Ann Arbor.

Basically the reason behind all this is what I like to call the Asian Man Syndrome. It goes a little something like this:

In America…..
Asian Man wants Asian Woman (normal);
Asian Man wants Caucasian Woman (double bonus!);

Caucasian Man wants Caucasian Woman (what’s new?);
Caucasian Man wants Asian Woman (exotic mah);

Caucasian Woman wants Caucasian Man (typical);
Caucasian Woman doesn’t want Asian Man (I’m not saying why);

Asian Woman wants Caucasian Man (Looks cool);
Asian Woman doesn’t want Asian Man (In America, so why should I?).

So Asian Man gets no loving....
