Telemarketer Kryptonite

Ever been awaken from your slumber by someone on the phone trying to sell you his/her credit cards? I have, and I tell you they’re a total pain in the behind.

Thankfully, not too long ago, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) came up with a way for us to avoid those pesky telemarketers. US residents can now sign up for the national Do-Not-Call List. The list basically is a collection of phone numbers nationwide that telemarketers cannot use for their business. If they do, they could get into big trouble. Yes, one can report violating telemarketers if they are already signed up on the list but still receive calls.

The link to the website is: https://www.donotcall.gov/ .

In the application form, you can sign in up to three numbers for the program and include an email address. The email address is for confirmation purposes. Within about 30 days your phone lines should be clear of the vultures for a good 5 years. I'll get back to you in a month to see if this really works.... that's if I remember to.
